In an article posted on April 9, 2014, about “Tech Trends: Game-Changing Couple Combines Social Media and Fashion,” the hottest social media trend is being praised. Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg are responsible for creating the Cinemagraph (GIF), which was first showcased at New York Fashion Week. While their idea for the GIF was originally targeted for fashion blogs and Pinterest, their success skyrocketed and now they are being sought-after by famous fashion icons.
In a Forbes article entitled “CEOs: Prepare Now For Employee Activists,” Chris Perry talks about industry employees taking action on social media. This movement is a good thing when those employees are using social media as a means to promote their companies using the right tactics. This brand “socialization” is most beneficial with the twenty-one percent of well-informed employees, but if anything, follow Zappos policy: “Be real and use your best judgment.”
In an article, “Online Fashion Runs Away From the Runway,” the idea that designer labels are staying clear from big fashion week productions and choosing to do all their business online is introduced. While fashion shows rely on the support of editors, online fashion forums directly target consumers for approval. The only potential downfall to this online take-over is the chance for a server to crash.
