Keeping this short and sweet.
Since moving in together, lunch has been consistent. Whether together or separately, we have this whole smoothie bowl thing down to a science. When our stomachs start rumbling, we wander into the kitchen and almost robotically reach for our ol’ janky NutriBullet.
Through some trial and error, we have devised our ideal bowl. (It's really nothing out of the ordinary ... but it is dang tasty!)
Smoothie Bowl Ingredients:
- Ice
-1 cup frozen berries
-1 scoop Vanilla Vega Protein Powder
-1 tablespoon almond butter
-½ cup water
-Al’s addition: 1 scoop Vital Protein Collagen Peptides (skin)
-Kyrie’s addition: 2 oz Whole Foods Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice (digestion)
Toppings:
-¼ cup Love Crunch granola
-1 tablespoon almond butter
-½ banana
Things to Note:
(Liquids) Take our liquid serving sizes with a grain of salt … as we get yelled at daily for “burning out the motor” cause we like our mixes thick. As if Harrison knows anything about good smoothie bowls. Don’t judge!
(Granola) As for granola, we love Nature’s Path Organic Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon and Dark Chocolate & Red Berries.
(Almond Butter) Our go-to choice of nut butter is most definitely Kirkland’s Signature Almond Butter from Costco. After trying just about every brand, nothing beats this taste and consistency. Can’t get much better than $7.00 for 27 oz. of creamy goodness!
(Protein Powder) With little b***hes for stomachs, we came to the conclusion that Whey protein was really throwing us off. After some experimentation with various protein powders, we found that plant-based makes us feel the best. Thus, we have stayed loyal to Vega’s Protein & Greens powder.
It’s indescribable the joy these bowls bring us. It’s honestly sick, but we never grow tired of them. Due to its monotony, we have cost, taste and nutrition in the bag… so for two girls hustlin’ to get by, we’d say it’s a win!
x // naturally,
Kyrie & Al
